EL ACORDEÓN DEL DIABLO is a journey to the Colombian Caribbean coast, home of the great singer and composer Pacho Rada. With him, the film dives into the music of the Caribbean, into the realm of Cumbia, Vallenato and Son. It is said he even defeated the devil in an accordion duel.
Francisco 'Pacho' Rada himself is 93 years old at the time the film was made. He lives in a corrugated-iron hut on the outskirts of Santa Marta, while his music storms the charts. But the story of his life is a legend. Gabriel Garcia Márquez was inspired by him in " One Hundred Years of Solitude ". And he is said to have a considerable number of 422 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pacho Rada himself and performances by musicians such as Alfredo Gutiérrez with his pulsating bullfighting sounds demonstrate the captivating energy of Caribbean music of Cumbia, Vallenato and Son. Today, many of his compositions are played by various pop groups in Colombia and are considered classics throughout the country.
