Not only akkordeon akut! Festival celebrates a jubilee in 2019 - but also the First Hallesches Bandonionorchester. In March it became 120 years. Founded in 1899, 14 bandonion players came together and, as usual, marches, overtures, character pieces, concert waltzes and potpourries were played - because the bandonion is not an Argentinian - but a German invention from Saxony. So it came that many bandonion orchestras were founded especially in central Germany and in the Ruhr area around  1900. This tradition is/was declining with the vanishing mining areas. The First Bandonion Orchestra Halle still exists. Today, as a cultural group of the Volkssolidarität it consists of 8 musicians, who interprate  Bach, Handel and Swing.
