Obrenovac is the hometown of the 38-year-old Roma musician Dejan Jovanović from Serbia, who studied at "Hanns Eisler". He is not only a master of the accordion, but also researches about the music traditions of Serbia and the Roma culture. Jovanović breaks the usual concert schedule with the exciting program of traditional songs and his own compositions.
He plays with drummer Dimitris Christidis, the violinist Dejan Jovanović, a cousin and namesake from Serbia who comes from the Roma village of Nanomir, where many highly talented violinists come from, as well as the Romanian singer Oana Cătălina Chiţu. The warm sound consciously renounces electronic effects and still remains extremely danceable. Balkan and Roma music at the pulse of time.
