Who invented it? The Finns of course! Claimes Aki Kaurismäki about the origin of Tango: farmers wanted to keep away wolves with the pounding steps mid-19th century, so Kaurismäki. Only a few decades later this music was brought to Uruguay and Argentina by sailors. "This hypothesis must be pursued" thinks director Vivianne Blumenschein and looks for tango musicians in Buenos Aires to travel with her to Finland to put a few things straight. Where they encounter mobile one-man saunas, taciturn people and of course representatives of the Finnish tango as M.A. Numminen, Sanna Pietäinen or Reijo Taipale. The pure truth is not the most important thing in this film. It´s about the pleasure of telling stories about differences and similarities of two great tango cultures.
